Plein Air Painters of Santa Ysabel, California is an engaging and informative 30-minute documentary project depicting local landscape artists as they paint at various locations across the San Diego County region of Southern California.

The Painters included in this documetary are: Kenneth Roberts, Annie Dover, Stan Goudey, Catherine Grawin, Stan Sowinski, Cindy Triplett, Pat Kelly and her class.

Through this portrayal of the landscape artist in the field with paintbrush and canvas, the viewer learns about the "en plein air" (in the open air) tradition of outdoor painting of San Diego and its continued practice in the early 21st century.

"Having had the good fortune of personally knowing the noted landscape painter Ken Roberts and his wife since the 1980s, the idea for a documentary on plein air landscape painters begain several years ago while speaking with Ken in his studio during a gathering at their San Diego home."
